The Brief in Brief

  • Create high end, short form content to increase engagement and brand exposure across social media platforms.
  • Develop a look and feel across a suite of films documenting insight into the lives of different athletes.
  • Deliver assets in formats designed to work both vertically and horizontally.

The Results

So far this has been distributed through Kukri’s social media channels and has been sent out in collaboration with British Gymnastics. They have been received really well and we can’t wait to produce more in this series.

The full story

Kukri and Doodledo have worked together over a number of years across a variety of different projects. This time, Kukri approached us asking if we’d help them put together a suite of films to advance their social media campaign titled ‘Unleash Greatness’. These all needed to be short form, inspirational pieces that don’t necessarily point straight to Kukri as a brand but indirectly suggests Kukri as being a brand these athletes rely on to perform to their maximum potential and unleash the greatness.

For this first film, we visited Adam Tobin and documented part of his training routine. We shot this using one main light source and used it to give us a strong edge light against Adam so that when we filmed him, he’d look dramatic and separated from the background.

We wanted this to look dark and moody, suggesting that Adam is zoned in and focussed on what he is aiming for. We also went for a filmic like colour grade with muted tones and film grain which we love the look of.

Alongside the main film, we suggested capturing additional content to deliver extra value, and produced a few social Q&A films which gave a deeper insight into Adam’s day to day routine, training and motivation.
